RESEARCH AREAS

My primary research interest is to design, architect, and develop novel systems for data management, herein my main focus is on exploiting the memory hierarchy and parallelism available on modern hardware systems to achieve optimal performance.

EDUCATION

  • 2008 Master of Science at the Hasso Plattner Institute of the University of Potsdam with very good (1.3). Master thesis with the title “Navigational SQL”, that extends the meta model of SQL with implicit navigational patterns that a) increase the usability of the SQL code and b) allow further optimizations of the query plan during execution time.
  • 2007 Bachelor of Science at the Hasso Plattner Institute of the University of Potsdam

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

  • 2008-2010 collaborative research project on hybrid main memory databases together with the Prof. Samuel Madden (MIT) and SAP.
  • since 2008 research assistant at the Hasso Plattner Institute at the chair of professor Plattner in the area of main memory databases and optimizations.
  • since 2008 multiple research and demonstration projects together with SAP in the area of novel applications exploiting the potential of main memory databases.
